About Dominicans and the Church:
Did you know that there is a group of lay people affiliated with the Dominican Order in the Triangle? Dominicans are formally called the Order of Preachers. The spirituality of the Order focuses on contemplative prayer, listening to God’s Word and the proclamation of that Word through liturgical preaching and service to the community. One of the mottos of the Order is this: "Dominicans are to be a light within the Church so that the Church can be a light to the world.” That is a tall order and we seek partnership with you in this effort. If you are a deacon or part of the diocesan diaconate, a member of an RCIA team, a catechist or just a person who might be interested in deeper encounter, deeper relationship within a community, we want to meet you and hope to see you on May 26!
fr. Jude Siciliano, OP lives in a Dominican community and novitiate in Dallas, Texas. He has been a preacher since his ordination in 1969 and continues to offer parish retreats as well as retreats for priests, religious, deacons and laity throughout the United States. The Dominican Laity is a group of women and men who meet monthly to reflect on and pray the Scriptures, to study and to share our lives as Christians.
