RSVP for the Living the Joy of the Gospel Retreat
October 24-25, 2014
St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, The Founders Room of Anthony Hall
Sponsored by the Dominican Laity of Raleigh, NC

“I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.” Jn 15:11

The new evangelization? There is nothing new about it. It arises from the mission of Jesus Christ himself; and, it is the same mission his disciples claim
for themselves on Pentecost. That Pentecost anointing of the Church for mission came to you at your baptism.
You are called to be an eruption of God’s mission in the world wherever you find yourself.

Will you accept this mission?

We invite you to join the St Mary Magdalene Lay Dominicans of Raleigh, NC for a day and a morning of prayer, study and reflection.

What can you expect?

Input from the presenter, quiet reflection, small group interaction and liturgy focused on the themes addressed in Pope Francis’ Apostolic Exhortation
Evangelii Gaudium (The Joy of the Gospel). We will explore what it means to each of us in our particular life situation when Pope Francis declares: “The
new evangelization is a summons addressed to all.” (EG, 14) We will also explore what the practical implications are for us – laity.

About the Presenter:
Fr Wayne Cavalier is a Dominican Friar who has worked with the Dominican laity for many years and is also an expert on ecclesiology and Vatican II. He is the Director of the Congar Institute for Ministry Development and Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program at Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, TX. He specializes in adult faith formation.
